Underground Railroad in Science

Our scientific tie to the Underground Railroad was through inventions and technology of the time of slavery and the Freedom Movement. Each student was to research a 20 year period of time, find at least five new inventions or improvements on current technology, and  build a scale model of one of the machines. Our goal was to discover how  technology might have affected slavery and the Freedom Movement.
